Virtual Tour Pricing
Virtual Tour pricing is based on a number of scans our scan-techs have to do at the property. This dictates the flow of the virtual tour to be natural. The users are controlling which way they go using the virtual tour. However, the flow of how far the user jumps from one point to another depends on how the distance between the scans at the time of the scanning.
Find out about our virtual tour pricing
It seems to be a standard practice to estimate a virtual tour scan at 10-40 cents per square foot. This means that a property of 2,000 square feet may cost as little as $200, to upwards of $600 and more. The price range will dictate the distance between the scans or vice versa. Let us explain.
Imagine a rectangular room. That room would be scanned in a grid pattern. The grid pattern can be 2 by 3, 3 by 4, 4 by 5. Each scan takes about 1.5 minutes to make. So a 2×3 scan will result in 6 scans that will take 9 minutes to make. Meanwhile, a 4×5 scan would result in 20 scans and would take 30 minutes to do. This is a approximately a 1:3 ratio in time, which reflects in the virtual tour pricing. The big difference will be the end result. While 6 scans is good to cover any small room, covering a large room in 6 scans will result in a poor virtual tour as the movement will be very choppy. The user will be jumping from one side of the room to another, instead of walking smoothly through the room.
Many companies will quote you a very low price of a scan. We suggest to ask how many scans they will make for the property. The interior and exterior of a 2,000 square foot home should be covered in no less than 100 scans. Anything under 40 for such property will result in a poor virtual tour.
